Have just sold our folding camper. Now have empty garage, huge pile of kit and excited about collecting our new (to us) Compass Venture 495 at Easter. Sure I will be back asking for advice after the first outing. In the meantime am searching for an awning.

Congratulations! We just picked up our (new to us) 2008 provence today and have spent the afternoon loading it up and playing with all the new bits!
In terms of an awning if you are thinking of a full awning then consider how long you might keep the van for? If its a long time then a full awning is prob worth it but if you think you might change in a few years then I would go for a more univeral awning that would fit other vans in the future.
Ebay is a good place to start looking for 2nd hand ones, you just need to know the "A Measurement" of your van.....which is basically the length of the awning rail from one end to the other (you will be abe to find this for your van on the net if you don't know it already)
Due to pick up our new van end of March. Having the Mamut mover fitted before collection this time - no low down cross member so ground clearance not affected. One thing I've been thinking about though. With the Powrtouch, by pressing the two alternate buttons, the van can swivel on the spot. Great in tight places. But I understand the Mamut has a small joystick. Can anyone having one confirm whether or not the swivel on the spot action is still possible?
we just got our new van (2007 coachman vip) and we got the outdoor rev new york with carbon poles, now looking to get the annexe for longer stays so i can use it as storage.
congratulations to all the new to me van owners hope your vans bring you many happy memories and we get the weather this year to help with the enjoyment
Thanks for all the replies. We are hoping to get an awning with carbon poles. We had these on the awning for our FC and they were great, light but strong. We won't need full awning till july so keeping an eye on 2nd hand as well as new. Like the look of Dorema Daytona if we have to go for new. getting very excited as Easter gets closer.
