Hi can anyone help !!! I'v got a blown bulb on the ceiling light & the only figure I can see on the bulb is 12volt, the caravan is a 2001 Lunar clubman 530/4 L I know the bulb is halogen 12v with 2 exposed stiff wires to plug into the outlet socket with the part number G4 capsule type ,but when I went to electrical store they told me these bulbs come in 10watt 20watt & 30watt, can anyone shed some light (pun intended) & point me in the right direction regarding correct wattage Many thanks Graham
It is a G4 type 12v halogen bulb and the most common wattage for caravan use is likely to be 10watt.
I've just changed mine to LED so got some spare halogen capsules. If you drop me an email, I'll happily send you the one's I've removed if you like.

Hi Paul tried to email you but it bounced back my email is graypratt at tiscali.co.uk. also noticed a few have changed to LEDs can you tell me what the benefit would be, if its for the power consumption this is not a problem as I only go on sites with EHU look forward to your replies Regards Graham
Hi Graham.
Email sent to your address; the forum hides the format of addresses so you may have just sent to a duff addy.
Regarding LED replacements, the main (and only to be fair) advantage is lower power consumption to retain battery for non-EHU sites. We generally use hook-up but Mrs G7 is keen to do some rallying and small CL sites etc., hence the gradual changeover. Depending what bulbs you have to change, the costs can vary and it isn't particularly worth the change for the sake of it. I have x5 reading spots, x2 uplighters, x4 cluster of 'mood' lights in the ceiling plus the awning light, so a fair few to have changed during the year.
Light output wise, I'm very pleased with them. A 10w halogen replacement is rated circa 0.6w LED equivilent, so you can perhaps appreciate the reduction in energy use.
