Am I able to buy loose fit carpets 'off the shelf' or do I have to have them made to measure from a normal carpet shop and have the edges binded?

You may be able to buy them from a dealer who will order them from the maufacturer but they would probably be rather expensive. if you want them to replace an existing carpet, then you would be best to take the old one to a carpet shop and ask them to make you one up, the price would obviously be dependent on whatever carpet you chose, but would no doubt be cheaper than having a replacement from the manufacturer. The cheapest way of course is to buy some of the carpet runners designed for use in the hallways of houses and use those.

We bought 2 runners from Tow sure, I think they were a fiver each and save our loose fit ones from getting spoilt.
