We have tried every way of living and sleeping in our 5 berth Elddis 505 -there are 3 of us.

We have just been away and made the end dinette up into a permenant bed area; double underneath with a bunk over. I like this as it gives an easy to bed routine and then we have automatic living space at the other end.

However are there disadvantages of leaving your beds up? I did notice that when we packed up to come home there were dents in the knee roll of each mattress caused by the up pole of the bunk bed sticking in them, looks rather unsightly. Is there anyway to avoid this.

Does anyone else leave their beds made up whilst on site. Thanks

We tend to do it the other way round. Make up the main dinette as a double and DD sleeps on rear dinette single. During the day we move her bedding onto ours. We all tend to turn in about the same time now anyway! (It's the wine)

We use the front sofas as singles and daughter has rear dinette. she likes the privacy. we plan on using rear dinette double when just the two of us.

We leave our rear dinette double up all of the time - it was what really made us buy the van. Great as the beds done and it has a slide door.
Never had a problem with the cushions, although we do "stand them up" when it's in storage over winter.

As you leave the beds up permanently could you perhaps store the seating maybe in the loft and buy mattresses for the beds and just collapse the bunk onto the double for traveling.

We used to put the bunk up for our daughter and use the front sofas as singles.  This time we made up the end double for her but packed it away in the morning.  As we were on a meet this was really useful for her to bring friends in when they wanted a break from being outside and we still had our area at the front if we wanted it. We use quilts which I roll up & put into storage bags, foam mattresses which lay under the seat cushions,,and pillows go into overhead lockers. The caravan looked so tidy this time it was worth the extra ten minutes needed to clear up & put away!

We also leave our rear dinette made up as a double, so much so that I got a foam mattress made to fit so we have a permanent bed, love the fact I dont have to make up bed at night.

Works for us as we have front dinette for during day and if I cant sleep I  can sit and have a cuppa without disturbing hubby.  I also sometimes sleep up front on single if my leg is bothering me.  Dogs sleep at fornt of caravan too.
