I find my Renault laguna is a little down at the back when I'm hooked up &was thinking about spring assisters - has anyone tried them & are they any good ?
Hi - yes says weight is good but just doesn't look right &worried about bottoming out or dragging inside wheel arch probably wouldn't but would rather be safe then sorry - we have been away a few times with no probs but always worried bout next time
Had the same issue with our Passat Estate. Van matched to car just fine, even checked on a weigh bridge, but any weight on the back and the wheels disappeared into the rear arches.
Have now fitted MAD spring assistors, made a big difference, no extra ride height that I can see, car handles better (Passat a bit soft) but best of all it tows nice and level now. Tried them out for the first time this easter, really pleased so far. They were £120 ish easy to fit if you can do basic maintenance, but I got one of the mechanics where I work to fit mine, he said they were a nice easy job.
Do you have a swan neck towbar as we do. Ours is the Renault one fitted at the Renault garage and my husband wishes he hadnt got thiskind of tow bar as our is the same as yours.
Currently using a 56 plate laguna without problems. Previously used a 52 plate passat without problems. Don't understand why yours should be different if correctly matched & loaded. Our van is at top end of 85% rule each time.
