Has anyone taken their cat on hols with them? I have a house cat (cats choice not mine, has cat flap which her brother uses but she hates being outside) anyway stayed last night in van on drive (to keep kids happy lol) and cat stayed with me and she was v happy.
I've seen cats in caravans looking out the window, if they are happy then why not, off topic but we were away this weekend gone, and two vans away from us had a tortoise :D it was just munching lettuce on the grass. It made me smile.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
I've often seen budgies and parakeets on campsites too.

We have taken all kinds of pets away with us in the past, a family of guinea pigs, and even a Hampster complete with 9 newborn babies!
If your cat is happy to stay inside the caravan and use a litter tray, and any smell from it doesnt bother you, then why not just go for it?
I think the problem would be if your cat was a roamer and took off to explore fresh territory, I have seen a couple of owners despiratly Kitty hunting for their puss whilst on site, due to it having made an escape out to explore.

I remember when I was a little girl we took our cat in a caravan. We had a wee harness and a long lead - and yes, I had to take it for a walk. I remember there being a litter tray but not much else. Probably the embarrassment of taking the poor thing on a lead is in my memory - dont remember the cat being bothered though.
My neighbours always take Joey the budgie on their caravan too.
We've seen a few cats on campsites, some never leave the van, some go for walks on a lead and the owners clean up after them.
Over Easter we went round our local dealer and in one of the 2nd hand vans someone had cut a cat flap into the bathroom door! I assume they must've put the litter tray in there but seemed a bit drastic.
