Hi everyone, Have just bought the above, now, have been idling through user reviews and panicking as there seem to be lots of comments that awning does not sit close to caravan and also lets wind and rain in! does anyone have any comments. good would be nice, bad experiences, well, guess I have paid now, so am hoping for best. any review, opinions going please?
we have had one of these for 3 years now.
never been a problem when you are on level ground...you just need to peg it out right and its dry as a bone. I have found that if you peg it too tight near the uprights against the van, then the wind might make the fabric "rattle" in the wind and/or against the van....but easy resolved by stepping out on the adjustable bands.
the only difficulty you will have is if you are on a slope....but then any awning is going to have this prblme anyway.
we are going to need to replace our soon as its wearing out...but will get exactly the same.
Wow, thanks, what a relief to read good things! Strange isnt it, more people make negative reviews... also was worried as a few reviews complained about poles breaking! You have all set my mind at ease. thanks. This is replace a "bargain" on ebay...was heavy poles and canvas.I lost count of the number of times the overhead poles fell on my head when I was helping hubs to put it up. Looking forward to painfree erecting!
Had a 390 for six or seven years and only got rid of it as one of the zips broke and it was starting to show its age due to years of neglect.
Broke a pole once but no problem as a replacement section only cost a couple of quid at the local dealers (you have to heat the seal on the end of the pole with a heat gun or similar to loosen the cord).
The early models like mine did not have rear poles so sealing to the side of the van was poor but never a real problem.
I think it cost £165 so it was excellent value for money and withstood some very heavy weather.
I have one and it does the job. I was talking to a guy on site who couldn't get his to sit right against the van. He told me he took about one inch off the poles at the rubber stopper end and it then fitted well.
I think his van must have been just short of the minimum height of 235cm as recommemded for this model if I remember correctly.

Had the 390 version used for about 4-5 years, great awning served us very well. Sold when we changed to new van. You know what OH's are like, new van, new everything
