hi looking for advice please.

weve recently bought a caravan from a dealer that came with a new Pyramid awning.  However everytime it rains, one end roof section collects all the rain ending in a huge water bulge.

weve tried tightening all the poles to stretch out the fabric and also tried to lower the corner poles to help it run off, but with no luck.

now today, the other end roof section is now collecting water too.

how can we rectify it?  has the fabric been stretched now so that this will always happen?

we tried reducing the corner poles but this just seemed to make the fabric more looser to collect the rain more?

is the awning on level ground.we have had this problem when the awning was running uphill.i had to put some spare poles i had inbetween the roof poles

It may be that the awning is too big for the van and can't be fully tensioned. Do you have any phot's of the awning especially of the sides?

If it is abig awning it may need some extra roof poles which can be obtained from most dealers. They have sucker or similar on one end and a clamp which goes over the front rail on the other. You can get extra legs too.

extra poles midway between the two sides,these will hold the roof material in place and stop it welling.

I have experienced this with an awning with 5 poles. The problem is a lack of tension across the roof of the awning. The solution is to tension the poles correctly and in the correct order. You might like to invest in a pole tenting device to stretch the awning roof properly. We were advised to start tensioning the rearmost pole first then move on to the centre pole then the front. When they are fully tensioned stretch the horizontal poles. you should have tight canvas across the roof which should allow the water to run off. Hope this helps, it worked for us.

Same here, we used to have this problem, but resolved with spare roof poles.

Getting a good run off use to help before the poles but wouldn't stop it all of the time.
