Following on from the earlier post using the same title about showers I could not resist seeing if anyone else notices like me how many blokes leave the toilets without washing hands. Been to 3 different sites in last 2 weeks and on 2 occasions witnessed blokes leaving cubicles and not washing hands, makes me sick that I then have to open the door with the same handle. Why why why can't they just wash their hands... Love someone to come on here and admit doing it and explain cus seems like there are loads of the filthy b##gers around.

Going for a number one and not washing hands is bad enough but after a number 2? That's just not on... All CC sites by the way.

The average keyboard, mobile phone & car steering wheel contains more bacteria than a toilet seat.

If you wash your hands after going to the toilet & dry them on a towel that has been used before, your hands will contain more bacteria than before you washed them.

The average domestic kitchen would be condemned by a health inspector.

Its a dirty old world, a few drops of fresh urine on your fingers ain't going to change much.

Apparently you can flush the loo and drink the bowl water and are less likey to pick up an infection or illness that you would from a telephone, and as tentz say the computer keyboard is full of bugs, im not going to try the loo thing mind, and I do wash my hands after the loo, but they say you've got to eat a bit of dirt before you die.

Your stats may be right Tentz but that doesn't mean poor personal hygiene should be tolerated.

What always amazes me is the number of times I've seen people using phones while at the urinals or heard them in the cubical.

Yea yea yea and you missed the peanuts at the bar one too I certainly wouldn't use a towel in a public toilet even if I ever saw one but perhaps the door handle does the same job as the dirty towel... I realize we are all exposed to far more bacteria than we would care to know but in my humble opinion this is one area where we should not have to be.

The point I was making was that washing your hands after visiting the toilet is something we are taught to do from a young age, most of use do it automatically even if its just running our fingers under a cold tap even when there are no towels & the hand dryer isn't working or just blows out cold air.

Most of the time it is just etiquette, to wash your hands properly to be free of bacteria you need to 'scrub up' & use a nail brush or at least use the antibacterial gel as provided in hospitals.

So many times I have seen people sneeze into their hand and then just continue what they were doing. This happened in a sandwich shop once and the assistant was amazed when I said I no longer wanted the sandwich........or her germs!

I have often noticed this and try never to touch the handle on the exit door. If I have to I pull a jumper down over my hand!

I have said for years that all toilet doors should open outwards so they can be opened without touching the handle.

For these reasons we always use the facilities in our caravan.

.........and many seem to have an inability to use the toilet brush as well....maybe they don't even know that one is there!!!! My wife and I often comment "I wonder if they treat their bathrooms the same at home"

This is silly .
I am not saying don't wash your hands and I do.
But sometimes I think it is going too far. Door handles ? antiseptic hand wash for example . that just covers up dirt on hands . Then children don't always follow the rules. If you are so neurotic about this wear gloves.
On a site that we were on recently the toilets and showers were not in the same block. So I think people who come from the toilet then go to the next block to shower don't think they need to wash their hands.
How have you all managed to live so long with out catching some horrible germs.
My OH has recently complained about the disgusting state that some people leave the chemical disposal points. So who is doing that.??
This can go on and on. I think if supermarket staff etc sneeze how long would it take for them to then stop use antiseptic hand wash every time.
Too much antiseptic affects your immune system . You need to build up some resistance.
Don't get me wrong . I don't like having to use dirty toilets and dirty showers that haven't been cleaned.

It doesn't matter how many germs are on the toilet seat because people generally don't touch them, it's more if they wipe and touch the "surrounding area" then spread the germs from there that bothers me.

I understand it does us no good to live in a completely sanitised world but like the OP says it's no hardship to wash your hands afterwards to at least keep the germ spreading to a minimum.

Women are often filthy b####rs too, not washing hands, not cleaning the toilet afterwards, leaving toilet roll on the floor, not flushing sanitary items away etc, I never use onsite facilities any more after so many experiences of the above.
