I know no one may believe this but on friday afternoon on the M6 I saw a twin axle van which I believe was a Hobby or similar due to it's extra width being towed by a Vw GOLF !!!!!!!

Well, I say being towed, it was on the hard shoulder, probably either cooling down or minus the clutch ..

No not unbelievable , every Bank Holiday you see these mismatched car and caravans on the road.
I wish the Police would crack down on these illegal outfits
There are some morons who think that there car can tow any size of caravan and just dont care .
There should be a nationwide crackdown with spot checks during Holiday weekends on all major motorways and any suspect looking outfits should be targeted .

I've seen a 3 door Golf pulling an Eldis Super Sirocco recently and also a Focus pulling a twin axle Hobby

Both probably pulling at 150% or ridiculous, i tend to get past these as fast as possible - a disaster waiting to happen.

I was amazed yesterday at the driving on the M5. I'm at a 70% match and I tow at bang on 60, and there were outfits strolling past me with the van swinging behind. I was equally annoyed at the inconsiderate car drivers who cut you up (don't want to follow a caravan), won't let you in (how long DO you have to indicate left before pulling out? I reckon 5 mins is too much, but those Renault Clio drivers won't let up!!) or go up the outside on roundabouts before cutting you up at the exit. GRRR.

Keep calm and go camping....

Hi, Travelling back from Bunree on Friday 13th, long line of fast traffic in front of me, and a few cars behind me, on the 60mph stretch after Crianlarich this fiat passed me with a little trailer in tow doing around 70mph, he cut in to a gap a few cars down the road, hit the brakes and only his off side car tail light was working no lights on trailer and no indicator lights working (working on car). Further along the road between Ardlui and Tarbet, no less than 4 big 4X4;s passed me from 6 cars behind me to about 6cars in front of me and cut in just on a left hand bend, a few seconds later a caravan came round that bend, dread to think what would have happened if the driver towing the caravan had been a few seconds earlier? (my attention and concentration heightened in case I had to stop in the event of their manoeuvres causing an accident), the road is narrow on this stretch of the A82, for anyone who knows that road, this is shear lunacy,  absolute idiots they put themselves and other drivers at very grave risk of accident or worse, ( Crush the car Preferably with the idiots in them, think that may be the only solution for these morons, that way they will be off the road), before you get the wrong idea that I am against 4X4’s and their drivers, I am not there a lot of very good responsible 4X4 drivers  out there, it is the irresponsible ones that give the rest a bad name the same amongst us caravanner’s.

If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
