Hi everyone,

Believe it or not, there's no info on the above product using the search button.

Anyway its out with the old and in with the new, (well not quite with the caravan), so are there any forum members who use this product, we've already carried out some research, but most of the info seems driven by Raskelf themselves, although i'm not saying thats wrong.

We have never been fans of the fixed bed system, we like a different site everytime we go out, and tend to lean toward a smaller van, we have now gone from a 450 to a 380, so value the space in the unit.

Until now we have always used the sleeping bag system, but always suffer back problems when the new season starts, nothing to troublesome, but a right pain, so was hoping there must be some members here who have this system up and running..... so was hoping you could help with the following.

Cost, although not uppermost in our minds, are they really worth the price.

Comfort, would the memoryform mattress be classed a quality item, considering you can purchase a topper from your local market.

Duvet, i know its dependent on what tog rating you have, but again would you consider it works perfectly well with the mattress.

Too be fair it has never been an issue with us making up the beds, i always do it wrong, my wife makes sarcastic remark and then does the job correctly, i'm not so sure i'm as stupid as what she thinks.

Here's hoping someone might just be able to help.

john

I remembered seeing the post on here a few days ago. I am sure the topic has been coverered many times before. You could also put the name into Google as it will doubtless come up on other caravan forums.

A while ago I used to have an Audi Cabriolet 2.6 - and I used that name to register on a VW/Audi forum. Kept the user name to keep life simple.

I now have the use of an Audi for work, but it gets changed every couple of months (I work at a dealership in fleet sales) so I can't put a tow bar on it as I'd go bankrupt.

So I use my trusty Passat for towing the 'van.

No problems with the other research,

Just thought there maybe a few users here as well.

I was being a bit thick with my last question to you, i checked your profile and saw you drive a passat, i drive a b7 audi a4 3.0l... best car i've had for towing, slightly jelous you get to drive a few different audi's. I'm also an active member of the vw/audi forum, so will keep a look out for you.

Thanks again john.

You'll probably have found some views on the link above but I have to say that the duvalay is my second best investment since buying a caravan. Very comfortable, no more minor backache, and the summer weight one is warm enough for us. Our season started in February when there was snow on the ground and we had no problems with cold.

We had a memory foam mattress topper and duvet before but the quality of the duvalay foam is vastly superior to the old one which wasn't cheap.

* My best investment is my remoska in case you were wondering

We love ours - see my post on the recent thread. The memory foam is very comfortable (and they say very good quality) and the duvet very cosy. There's a definite advantage in the cover which means everything is attached down one side and across the bottom which means the duvet can't slide off or your feet poke out. If you put away the bedding every day as we do they are very quick to set up at night probably quicker than having everything separate. But they are quite bulky to store.
You've missed their annual sale but if you're not in a hurry wait until their next one - I think it's usually January?

Regarding searches did you know you can search all forums not just one at a time by scrolling down to the bottom of the forum search box - there have been several discussions about duvalays over the years but probably spread accross several of the forums.

Absolutely LOVE my Duvalay - I have the 4cm winter one.

I suffer from bakc and joint problems but always sleep really well with the Duvalay and I have never been cold when using it.

Bought duvalay's at the manchester show last year, and cant  believe how good they are !! The mattress, the quilt both are great quality. I know they cost alot but if you've got the money to spend I wouldn't hesitate !!

As for making up the beds, I'm not allowed anywhere near them, I'm entrusted with all the towing, levelling up the van, connecting all the services etc, but cant be trusted when it comes to the beds !! hahahah !!

We have not only got 2 x 3ft for the fc but bought Bob a  main home mattress for his bed. The needs for a decent topper is there because of my spine mainly but now leading to hips & knees ah! well sign of age. But it was the best buy we could of done. I have slept on a cheaper one which was on a bed at my big sis house. That was okay but it never moulded back to the shape quick enough for me. As I move a lot on left side/back only and the fidgetting causes the toppers to be slow in filling up with air again quick enough for the turn over. As I am heavy in weight it has to be a good one anyway.

The Raskslef was the only one that fitted the bill in every way. A lot more money but you gets what you pay for. Especially if you tend to be a bit heavier than you should be. Nothing better than a good nights sleep or in my case as best as you can get. So worth paying out for, got the covers for them all also at the same time.
