just got back from my first trip in my caravan (its a 1994 compass image=special edition reflection) i waited till i got it serviced and got the brilliant no damp whatsoever tick in the service.anyway i took me and my 2 dogs(choc labs)to the new forest and stayed at sandyballls which is a fav place of mine,it was a bit of a drag getting down there because of the windy weather but made it in one piece and with gettting 40mpg.this was my trial run just to see if i liked it as i loved my conway cruiser.Verdict:- had a great relaxing time even the torrential rain at night and the baptism of fire driving home in the torrential rain with lorries going past more than there legally meant to hasnt put me off.next trip devon and new forest in may
Hi & well done! We only started last year and this month was our 1st trip away with 2nd van. We are also off to the New Forest on Monday for our 2nd trip out and are both keeping our fingers crossed for less rain! We nearly brought a Conway instead of the van but are soooo glad we got a van. The bathroom, heating and other luxerys make it worth the money and the thought of packing up a FC when wet isn't appealing!

Our van is stored in The New Forest and god did it rain today!
At least I know it isn't leaking! This is our first van after upgrading from a tent, looking forward to trying her out after we've completed work. Just wish the sun would shine so we can wash the bloomin thing.
I think its lovely to wake up with rain gently pitter pattering on the roof, then snuggle down with a nice cuppa and radio4 to wake up gently to natures outdoor music!
Its no hardship caravanning these days.
