As has been said a lot of domestic TVs come with a mains to 12 volt DC 'adaptor' and you can improvise a 12 Volt DC lead to run these directly on DC.
As has again been said the van's 12 volt supply varies a lot which potentially could damage these types of TVs. However the over voltage only usually occurs when on EHU so if you habitually use the TV on its proper mains adaptor when on EHU and reserve the 12 volt lead for when off EHU things should be okay. An exception is if using a large solar cell in bright sunshine that can provide a higher amperage than the TV takes. This might lead to some over voltage. IMO you are only likely to even risk getting near a problem with cells over 55 Watts, and during the really sunny hours. Even that can be countered by temporarily removing the solar cells fuse etc., if wanting midday TV.
Most solar regulators will limit the output to around 14 to 14.5V when the battery is connected and under load. If anyone is daft enough to use a large pv panel without a decent regulator is asking for trouble and not just with a 12V TV
Companies like Kogan specifically advertise their 12V TV's as being suitable for caravan use and in fact use a icon of a caravan to indicate the TV has a 12V input.
At the moment a 19" Kogan is £89 including delivery plus £9 for the 12V adaptor.

However 14.5 Volts is still an over-voltage of 20% on a 12 Volt nominal supply, which 'some' products can be quickly or progressively damage by.
I was making no suggestion at all that anyone ought use a solar cell of the size I discussed without a regulator, but as quoted here that regulation still outputs 20% over-voltage and that level needs treating with caution.
we cant use our van on leisure batt only due to me having to use a c.p.a.p. machine and oxygen concentrator at night so we use an ordinary household tv from argos and only had problems with picture reception at one site near Matlock but everywhere else has been good.
