Hi everyone yesterday we purchased a bailey ranger 550/6 2006 caravan and im looking to get an awning and wanted something lightweight with a bit of space to sit in. I have looked at the prestina 390 xl or the sunncamp 390 does anyone know if these would fit and if there a good choice or can suggest anything better thanks

We had a 550/6 and originally had a sun camp ultimate 390, very lightweight but an awful fit. We then chained to the Pyramid Corsica love it, and to be quite honest takes no difference in time to put up/take down. We then changed the caravan go 540/6 GT and still use the pyramid awning.
Hope this helps .

Buy a Kampa Ralley porch awning. Its lightweight and excellent quality. We never use our large awning now.

We have a 550/6 and got a Starcamp Daytonna awning from towsure. It is a fantastic full awning, never leaked once in all the rain over the weekend and is simple to put up too. They are made by Dorema which we didn't know when we bought it. Very sturdy and gives you loads or extra space. I would recommend it to anyone
We do also have a porch awning, just a cheap one from riversway leisure, but only really use it if we are away for a weekend, they take about the same amount of time to put up!
Hope this help

Hi,

We too bought a Bailey Ranger 550/6 this year. We bought a Dorema Daytona with fibreglass poles form Glossop caravans. Only used it once, but it was in wet and windy weather, the awning performed well and has loads of room. Even better it was easy to errect.

When i got my 550/6 i went to lowdhams to discuss awnings. They can tell you the exact size and they also take awnings out of all the part ex vans they take in,hence i got a dorema for mine  at a  very reasonable 150 pounds.Although the wife gets embarrassed when i haggle prices, but in my mind its just extra cash to them, money for old rope.
