Speaking of lightweight awnings, does anyone know if you can Tie Down the lightweight awnings.   With the climate change at the moment, high winds are more frequent and we are not sure if you can/or should, tie down the lightweight awnings.  Would love to hear from others with their comments of solutions

We had a starcamp 390 lightweight porch last year in 70 mph gales in brighton and the only tie downs were the guy ropes,it took all the weather could throw at it the only damage was the plastic rings holding the guy ropes to the awning broke but I replaced them with metal keyrings

In high winds the lightweight ones usually collapse against the van,have heard of people not being able to get out of the door as the whole thing has sprung inwards.

We have one for weekends and just use the guy ropes and make sure its pegged down well,not had a problem yet but our full awning gets me worried sometimes when it starts rocking around in the bad weather.

The Kampa rally ones have storm straps the fasteners come attatched to the awning but the actual straps are additional extras but well worth buying in my opinion
