We are currently in haven, burnham on sea. Our awning is acting like a hot air ballon and the caravan is rocking.
Many tents have blown away and I've seen one awning blow over caravan but have been told there is others too.
What a weekend.
I've used every strap and peg I got inside and outside of awning but am still worried its going to flip.
I've even parked my transit next to awning to block some of the wind.
I'm affaid that if I try to take it down it will flip as I will have to de peg it.
I can't believe I missed the weather warning, seen it last night, it was late by then.
Yeah one full awning gone, I spoke to him and he said its ripped all over.
Just seen two caravans leaving, dodgy I'd say towing in this wind, hope they are ok.
We have stoped at Burnham and know how windy it gets. And also lost our awning through bad weather, so know what you are going through. Hope the weather improves for you soon.
We were going away this weekend but my husband got a hospital appointment on Monday so we thought we give it a miss . I hope you get your awning down and best luck if you are towing today you will need it...........
I am terrible if the weather picks up dring the night, i go out in the awning ( kampa rally 260 ) and drop the tables, chairs even stools
Also have been known to walk the site at night rather than stay in the van ( daft i know )
I know how u feel jusy, I was out last night and this morning addding pegs and trying to make things safe, didn't sleep very well at all, every gust of wind I was expecting the awning to flip.
Yes Phillip I think ill leave it, a few caravans have left but I don't fancy towing in this wind, ill even stay an extra night rather than tow in High winds. Ill just try and enjoy my break away from the stress and worries of home ha ha.

I am not trying to make you worry even more
Have safe trip home when you go xx
Hope the awning holds for you, know how it feels, just stay put enjoy yourself, rather be in the van on site than towing it home, if you stay another day so what, better to be safe. Have a safe journey home when you do leave x
------------- "I'm a fool for my dogs"
Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
I'm glad ur thinking on the same lines as me, I wasn't sure at one point. But yeah stay put.
We can still take kids to club house to get out of rain etc so I'm staying till its safe to leave. Which could be next month!!!
