Recently purchased a second hand Sunncamp awning but it didn't come with any awning pegs/ties to hold the sides down.. I used some metal tent pegs but they weren't really up to the job and when it was windy the just come out. Can you suggest the best things to use, looked on various site and confused between Hammer in pegs, screw in ones and v pegs... The ladders, rubbers or Bungee elastic with balls....
most awnings have ladders which we always get on well with and rock pegs are a must in my book . we use the elastic with balls on for like the windows to tension them if it really windy although not all awnings have the plastic v things under the windows for them. Rubbers are ok but not usually as long as the ladders if the pitch uneven. we have some in the kit for when we need them. try and put the pegs in at an angle against the pull of the awning and they come out less although if the ground soft and it windy it is hard to do anything about it except constant checking
------------- Oh am loving the tin tent after campaining against it..........I was wrong.

We used the ladder type with bang in pegs with our last van and it always seemed ok no problems until the wind got up and it pulled the pegs out, since then we have bought another van and the awning came with the van and it had the screw in pegs which I have found to be great they are very easy to screw in with a battery drill and they never pull out so I find them much better.Ian
