I use an18V Dewalt impact driver it has a terrific amount of torque and will out perform any drill driver it's designed for that kind of usage..

sorry guys but an impact drill is designed for driving screws into wood or breeze block not for lowering / raising corner steadies. You could actually damage your corner steadies with the vibration of the constant impact. I use a cheapo battery  drill i bought off the tv for £7. Its only 12v and i have to charge it frequently but it works and thats all that matters , if i need more power i can always bring my big boys toys from home lol.,

if there is one job i hate its winding legs up and down on the van.i have used a drill for years.dont pay £7 for a fitting.find a socket to fit the leg nut and a long nut and bolt that fits your chuck,fix the two together.free fitting.

I have recently returned from a week at Black Knowl CC Site where I witnessed an  instance of someone using a battery drill on the hammer setting to lift the corner steadies!

How did I know you may ask, well I heard it is the answer! On pointing this out, this proved to be the case and I was thanked by the individual who admitted to not being a very practical person.

The impact driver mentioned earlier is another definate no no!

I'm disabled thats why i use a cordless drill , It's got a torque setting so i cant damage my steadies but an impact driver is just that hence the name impact. An air gun that takes off / puts on wheel nuts is designed for that job even so it can and does sometimes break wheel studs. so if you want to use a cordless i would go with a drill/screwdriver over an impact driver anyday.
