Hi All, we have bought a TV for the new van so if the site has a TV point in the EHU do you just need an extra long TV arial to plug it in with or is there a special cable required?
cheers
You just plug your coaxial cable into the coax socket in your caravan and plug the TV into the 240 volt mains electric exactly the same as you do at home. I'm not sure what you mean though by saying that site has a TV point in the EHU. The reception (signal) comes from your own caravan TV aerial.

Lots of sites have an aerial socket on the same post as the EHU. You just need a coaxial cable to run between the post and your TV - usually gives a lot better signal than the caravan's aerial.
Yes some sites have a site arial which is coected to a socket in the EHU box you just need about 20 mts of extra arial wire with a tv conecter on each end then plug one end into the tv and the other end into the socket on the EHU box and off you go.Ian
I must admit that I've never heard of this before where there is a TV coax socket located on the EHU post. That's quite interesting actually because I have often had a poor reception due to the type of status aerial fitted on my caravan so I will look into this a bit further. It just may solve a lot of people's problems regarding a weak signal etc.
Hi tango55 if you ever go to North Norfolk you should try a site called Sandy Gulls its in a small village called Mundesley. Its an adult only site on the cliff edge with veiws to die for very clean toilets and showers and very quiete this site has a conection in the in the EHU box because the tv signal was very bad down their, now the picture for the tv is brilliant and its a great site.Ian
Thanks Ian, I have found the site you are referring to in the 'Camp Site Search'. I have been to Norfolk on a few occassions but I will keep this site in mind.
Just a quick word of advice, many sites with TV socket in the EHU post also offer to sell a length (in metres) of coaxial cable for an over inflated price. Nip to Asda/Tesco and get one of theres 10,15,25m for a approx £5.00. Much cheaper we last saw one for £17.99 20m in a site shop and £6.99 down the road in asda.
Cheers all, we are going to a site with this facility so looking forward to perfect reception when required! Hoping to be sitting outside in the sunshine really
