I have just had a call from a friend who has purchased an Elddis Crusader equipped with a Dometic fridge, but cannot work out what two of the controls do?

The fridge freezer is a Dometic RM7651 and has a rotary type control for the temperature, but it is not clear from the manual if you have to turn it clockwise or anti clockwise to make the fridge colder.

Also there is a button with no marking on it which according to the manual says it is a switch for frame heating with display LED, does anyone know what this is for?

Im not sure we have the same model of fridge, but with our Dometic, 1 is the lowest setting and 7 is the highest (coldest)

Theres the big green rocker type switch that switches the fridge on and off from mains power.

The button with the Z like symbol is for gas ignition. The smaller rocker switch is for 12v operation, normally used whilst towing.

I hope this helps. Ours is a 2006 model BTW

Thanks for the reply , their fridge is a 2005 model and foes not have numbers on the dial hence the confusion . It has small black marks that go from small marks to longer marks, bu does not indicate which is the coldest setting?

The small black marks would be the lower setting with the longer marks increasing to the higher level. In other words, the longer the mark the higher the number. Some domestic cookers are similar where they have marks rather than numbers.

Another application where they use these marks which are called increments is on a volume scale where you see a triangle shape with the small marks being low in volume then increasing in volume as you go up the scale.
