The week from Hell - we were supposed to be at Sandy Balls this weekend but all started going wrong when we saw the weather forecast (the wife doesn't do cold).
Then I came down with a serious case of man-flu which I've still got. Then realised we were missing the Homebase sale this weekend (we've got the entire house to decorate) and a great fair in our local park.
Then I decided to get some roof bars for the car - 3 trips to Halfords and a specialist shop in the middle of nowhere, I finally get the bars on, only to realise I got the wrong bike racks !! Too late to change them, we have to leave the bikes behind.
So we finally set off to get the van, hitch up - and find that the rear lights aren't working (an electrical fault somewhere). Cue crying kids and much swearing from me...
Its like someone doesn't want us to be away this weekend. I suppose we can go to Homebase now....

I know the feeling - we went to Norfolk for ten days astronomy last week and it rained all the time except two clear afternoons. Took loads of telescope gear and didn't even unpack it.
Couldn't get a TV signal, and the pump was playing up. We wound up buying cards and games to play and hiring videos the whole time. Packed up in the rain too when we left - fortunately we had a chum turn up for a weekend visit wich was a giggle - but otherwise it was total washout - hmmph.... :)

They work fine now so if thats the problem with yours it may solve it but we are not diy experts by any means but i dont think you can lose anything by giving it a try .
I know the feeling nelmo - we went away last weekend and I had a nightmare also. When we go away we each have jobs and it works well, however there were quite a few of us last weekend in caravans & tents so the organised ME went through the window.
1. OH did his bit and said okay to turn on pump - this I did, walked out of the van, 10 minutes later came back to find that I'd left the taps open in the bathroom and kitchen with also the cover over the kitchen sink. Fortunately no damage there but walked into bathroom and flooded somehow the plug had got into the sink and the force of the water connected it in the hole !!! got as much up with towels as I could and put the electric heater in there all weekend (away from the water of course) - needless to say we had a lovely heated toilet. Been down this morning and seems okay.
2. Every time I turned electric on, it blew so spent ages resetting the box only to find that it was our neighbours dodgy electrics blowing it
3. Fellow camper locked keys inside her van
The weather however was gorgeous although cold at night but we were lovely and snug with our heater blowing all night
Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour just a bit puzzled as to how the next door neighbour locked her keys in her van surely she had to lock it from the outside

We thought exactly the same and we are totally puzzled as to how it happened - its certainly never happened when she's camped alone with us - however we did have the grandchildren with us . I remember on one of our trips with the grandchildren our electrics had been working fine all day, however all of a sudden we had none - we tried all the usual things and it hadn't tripped - puzzled to say the least until we realised that 1 little pair of hands had switched the master switch to 12v (and we don't have a battery) but no-one had done it honestly grandad
