Hi Members can anybody using a Bigfoot motormover please answer a question for me.I have just purchased said mover and it comes including a bracket with towball attatched, our van is a Sprite major 6 2012.When the mover is used in conjunction with the bracket does it just lock in to the hitch with power wheel attatched? Are there any members using one near where i live in cheadle cheshire, that might demonstrate how it connects to the van.

Regards

I have a Mr Shifta, which has a towball on it, I just take the van off the car using the jockey wheel/brake, then lower the tow hitch on the caravan onto the ball of the Shifta, - brake off again, and go. The Bigfoot can work the same way, but you need to connect it to your leisure battery to operate it.

With the Bigfoot it can be used the same way, or you can take off your jockey wheel (whilst cvan is still attached to your car) and replace it with the bigfoot, connect to your leisure battery and off you go. This methos depends on whether you can access the jockey wheel from the outside of the towbar.

Found a few instructions for you.bigfoot instructions

Caravan movers are for girls.

Spend some money on some proper tuition on how to reverse your caravan properly instead, and then brag about how you are such a professional.

Wait a minute......I did when I took my HGV1 in 1995.

Much easier here to use a Mr Shifta, I live on a narrow lane, with a bank opposite, which would involve a 25 point turn/reverse at least, before I would get the right angle to get back into the drive - whilst holding all the traffic up and burning the clutch out. Not to mention that twice a day the road is gridlocked by parked cars and traffic from the local primary school three doors away...

It would certainly seem that movers have removed the art of reversing a trailer which was also one of the best bits of entertainment on a site, but there are occasions when a mover can place a caravan in positions where it just would not be possible to put it with a car.

They also are a fantastic bit of kit if you are disabled too.

We have quite a tight turn up a slope to our garage. We bought a Bigfoot locally through ebay and it certainly helps this retired old git with heart problems get the TT over the concrete lip and into its resting place.

Hi suemart. No, ours didn't come with the towball bracket.

You can see the bracket being used in the picture at the top of Jax365's link. It is fitted to the hitch with the bracket underneath the A frame parallel to the hitch handle and the Bigfoot in the clamp on the bracket. You can see the caravan's jockeywheel in the raised position behind it.

Get a grip.

It was meant as a tongue in cheek remark.

Jeez.

I'm not a know it all, just someone who does it for a living, but thank you for your congratulations.
