We've just got a mover and don't know how we coped before. It's not the reversing into the pitch that's the problem in our case, it's reversing the pickup close enough to the hitch with no rear visibility. We haven't had a row since I had it installed

Huge benefit for the bad back situation as well and I agree that they would be invaluable for the disabled.

Sadly I can't use it. I've got that whole brain hand lack of coordination thing

Caravan movers are for girls.

Spend some money on some proper tuition on how to reverse your caravan properly instead, and then brag about how you are such a professional.

Wait a minute......I did when I took my HGV1 in 1995.

Oh dear  - a know it all and look at me 'I am great' character   Well done and congratulations.  Such a pity we don't all fall into the same category as you.  We lesser mortals have to spend a lot of money on our movers to do what comes so easy to you.  I suppose we must make up for it in other ways.  I would love to be a professional reverser my life is so dull otherwise.

Oh well said,

Us neither, although his MS is ok right now sometimes it isn't and I can't physically move the van on its own, and our drive is very tight, with a mover its a few buttons and up it goes, and it goes in a lot tighter and neater with a mover than when we have to move it manually , there is just not the room to use the car to back it in, a mover will keep us caravanning for many years :)
And no rows now like before when I shouted out you're squashing me as I'm pinned against the wall

Hi, I agree there “Caravan Movers are for Girls”. And for all those Caravanner’s that do not have the relevant space to perform the reversing manoeuvre safely, because of narrow roads, cars parked opposite their drive, narrow driveways/steep driveways where there is no room to manoeuvre the car and be able to control the van, busy main roads where a reversing manoeuvre could be quite dangerous, Caravanner’s that have mobility problems and without a mover they would possibly have to give up caravanning, the majority of waiting car drivers know roughly the amount of space needed to make a reverse manoeuvre with an artic and leave plenty of room for the movement, that cant be said when it comes to caravans reversing.

Caravan manoeuvring Courses are a good thing and worth the fee, and would be beneficial in 99.9% of situations but not all, that is where the movers are handy.

PS, On a lighter note, I use a mover when needed, and now that my male status has been changed, Just wondering if that would mean I will be wined and dined.
