Tom Tom is another manufacturer who have a SatNav device scheduled for release soon for the growing caravan & camper market. As we know most consumer satnavs are unsuitable for large motorhomes and caravans as they take no account of road widths, bridge heights, weight limits etc unlike this one where they can be selected. Its not likely to be cheap though as its based on the GO LIVE 1005 and that retails around £250.
I purchased a Garmin NUVI 465T truck sat nav 2 years ago, you set your total vehicle length, width and height. It also has lifetime traffic updates so no hidden extra costs after you have purchased the equipment. You set it to either have car mode or truck mode, it navigated us all the way to northern Spain last year without any issues.
The Garmin is £100 cheaper than the Tom Tom and Snooper.
I have a snooper Ihave bought second hand for £50 and have downloaded the latest maps. I need to upload the speed cameras to remove the french database as we are going to france soon.
We aren't taking the caravan so I might use Sygic on my android device which I like and this device is great for playing music.
