Has anyone got this awning. I'm thinking of getting one and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on its suitability for a fortnights holiday in Scotland in the "summer". We have a couple of cheaper nylon porch awnings but nothing as substantial as this. Also, this comes with an annexe and would be perfect for our 11 year old. Our "cheaper" nylon awnings tend to have a real issue with condensation which is my biggest reservation with buying another nylon awning. I can't remember having that as a problem with our full canvas awnings in the past.
Would welcome any comments before I part with £300.
hi alison i bought one last year and have been very pleased with it we use the annexe for the dog bed very easy to put up we tend to use it more often now than the canvas one as its lighter aswell

I don't know much about that particular awning but any nylon awning will suffer with more condensation than a canvas one as the fabric is not breathable. I think you need to keep them well ventilated but if it's being slept in, one person can breath out a large amount of moisture.
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
We have a sunncamp 260 and don't have a real issue with condensation. Some on the "windows" in the morning but soon clears. Wouldn't be without it. Its so easy to erect.
Im a bit new to this forum but I thought Id put my pennys worth in as we have been looking for a Sunncamp Mira and after a little research have found a couple of places selling the Sunncamp Encore 390. They look the same to me, but the Encore is much cheaper (I've seen them new for under £240). Whats the difference - Im guessing year?
hope someone can help.
PS we use two small dehumids in our compactalite awning, no problem with condensation.
Thanks zzakety. I shall have to look out for the Encore. Just really started looking. Good idea with the dehumidifier too. Roxidig, glad you like your awning. Do you tend to use it for more than just long weekends away?
Alison.
We've had ours for a couple of years and think that it is good value for money and really suits what we want it for.
We no longer take our bradcot full awning and never have to worry about getting the awning down in the dry anymore !
It has stood up to some really strong winds however watching the roof poles flatten and then snap back up again can be quite disconcerting at times but it continues to come through unscathed
Thanks Poppy's dad. I think that's just what I wanted to hear. I've pretty much made my mind up that we're going to go for it.
Thanks everyone for all your help
Alison.
Update..... I ordered one on Sunday evening and it turned up this morning. Can't wait to use it. Unfortunately the first chance we have is our 3 week trip to Scotland. Here's hoping that it's all ok.
Got the wine/grey one for £307.50 inc delivery which was the best price that I could find for that colour. Thanks everyone for all your comments.
Hi Tony,
Yes. We have christened it. We're away at the moment although on our way home from a 3 week holiday in the Lakes and Scotland. We first put it up in the Lake District without checking it all out first. I have to say that we did a lot of swearing. We couldn't work out what pole was what. And got ourselves into a right pickle. But we did get it up with the annexe but we weren't feeling very good thoughts towards it, I have to say. However, the second time we put it up it was easy. Once we'd stashed away the poles we didn't need, Just so we didn't get confused again. The awning is much roomier than our last one. It seems a lot deeper, by about a foot. And the shape gives that impression too. The annexe was a great space although it docent seem to be held up by much. 2 poles and some guy lines. Saying that we had torrential rain and winds whilst we have been away and it stood up to them. All in all I'm glad we got it.
Hope that helps
Alison
Sorry, thebroons30. Yes it does seem to have more poles than I've had in this type of awning. Including ones that go into the corners against the wall of he caravan. Once we'd got them sorted out though, it wasn't a problem.

We have the Mira 390. I love the design. I love that it doesn't take long to put up (now we've colour coded the poles), I love the side annexe and bedroom pod. I love the porch part.
What I don't like is it leaks like a sieve. If we have rain the roof pools water around the roof support bars and porch. We thought it was just us not pitching it properly and have tried many different ways of pegging the guy ropes but we were pitched next to a family with the same awning with the same problems. The husband was well versed with awnings as they had been caravanning for over twenty years and he said it was the worst awning he'd ever had.
Sunncamp sadly didn't want to know when I phoned them.
I'm trying to decide if its worth rewaterproofing it or just cutting our losses and buying a new one.
Hi fradillian,
We didn't have problems with it leaking but did have terrible pooling problems once when we were pitched on a hill, We've used it a few times now and had some real downpours. It looks like you might have a Friday afternoon model
