Ive just had my 6 yr old van serviced, and before now its been a really smooth tow, in fact you would barely know it was on the back of the car.....
However, since the last service it's been a very jiggly van. You can definitely feel it on the back, bouncing around, and with vibrations coming in to the vehicle cabin. If you go over a bump in the road you really feel it.
Nose weight is spot on for towing, and I think the overall weight is OK - it does have an extra 100Ah battery in there - but I wonder if it could be the tyre pressures? Are they likely to be too high in pressure or too low?
Any suggestions gratefully received......

I would check the tyre pressure or ask what it is as, if you dont know them OR check them you might be heading for a blow out...dont leave it for someone else to check, check every trip..
I would tend to agree with the others too that it's most likely to be excess air pressure in the tyres but I also have to agree with michael that it's worth checking the wheel bolts and possibly having the wheels balanced as well for what it costs.
Tyre pressure would be my first thought, nalso check all wheel nuts are tight as a loose wheel could show the same symptoms. Unlikely to be wheel balance has changed unless tyres have been off. BUT I had new tyres fitted, and asked for them to be balanced, "never been asked before" they said, however when they went to balance them they had to take one tyre back off the rim and turn it 180degrees as it was so far out of balance.
we check our type pressures before every trip, the crazy weather in the UK messes with tyre pressures something cruel, between our last 2 outings (4 weeks ) we had lost about 3lbs so it is worth checking. When we got our van (5yrs ago) we checked the book and found the correct pressure for our vans tyres in 65psi,

I smile besause I have'nt a clue whats going on... appreciate everything in life especially your friends...
Thanks for the tips folks. Tyres actaully are correct according to handbook.
Dealer thinks its the shims in the hitch head might be too tight on the towball after the service adjustments. Instead of letting the van move freely on the tow ball the hitch is pinching the ball and causing drag......
Taking it in this week for them to double check it.
