We recently bought a Lunar Quasar 462 and brought it home from the storage barn to load it.When I looked out of the bedroom window this morning I noticed that the roof appears to sag slightly between the horizontal joists and the night's rainfall was leaving puddles on the roof. Our last caravan had a slightly domed roof and this was never a problem - has this happened to anyone else?
The last two winters, with heavy falls of snow, could have left quite a layer on the tops of caravans. Its worth popping out every now and again to brush it off to prevent the accumulation of weight which may cause sagging. I appreciate that the weight is spread across the roof, but every little helps in protecting your van

My brother bought a new lunar Solaris in 2006 the roof on that was terrible for pooling he got rid after 2 years it was a common feature of lunars at that time the dealer that he bought it from had a display area upstairs in the main showroom , when you walked
Up the stairs you could see the tops of the different makes of caravans in the showroom lunar were noticeable for their rippled aluminium and framework showing through on the roof I am not saying they are bad caravans infact I thought the layout and brightness of the interior was by far supirior to the eldiss super sirocco he replaced it with
Hi,I have a lunar Lexon 2008 which does have the same promblem, which as gone unnoticed over the life of the van and as caused a leak through the sky light, which i think i have repaired but the water marks are taking some time to go even though i had a de humidefier in there for a week, tried getting in touch with Lunar to complain but didnt want to know,i do the same as the others but have the noise up as my pooling is at the back of the van.

If your 2008 lexon has been serviced annually it will still be under the 6 year water ingression warranty in which case it would be repaired F.O.C .
The roof skin is known as a floating roof skin and is not uncommon on caravans , Pre 2005 Baileys have the same type of roof construction .
My 2010 Lexon also suffers from water collecting on the roof but its serviced annually on time so as not to invalidate the warranty so if it gets damp it will be repaired
Our Sprite does the same. In fact the first time we noticed was when we had had lots of rain on a trip to the lakes and when when moved the van to hitch it to the car it litarally came off in bucket loads and i got soaked. I did wonder then if the heavy snow had caused the roof to ripple. When you look at the roof it is full of ripples and areas water could stand. Do you think this is a design fault and would be covered under warrenty.
There must be thousands and thousands of 'vans with floating skin type roofs, and they have all been subject to snow laying on top in the last few years.
This situation hasn't changed for decades, so it can't be a huge problem, surely? Otherwise the warranty claims would have forced a change in construction techniques.
Just been to clean the caravan and the water has collected together near the back of the roof, ours is a lunar odyssey 2001, I will go tomorrow and dip the front down a bit then.

Have to agree with you on this one , my dealer and I been using him for 15 years and get excellent service and aftercare assures me this is not an issue .
I not one of life's worriers , if it leaks so what that what your warranty is there to cover and providing your van is serviced on time you should be covered .
