Being new to caravanning and to this site I thought I would share this with you.
Recently purchased a 1996 Rapido. Great little caravan. Tried to light the pilot on the fridge and an orange flame almost blew me out of the door, having set fire to my trousers and singed hair of arms and eyebrows. Luckily no permanent damage to me or the van. When I investigated, the gas hose to the back of the fridge (replace by 1999) had split fallen off and was lying on the floor. Next job replace all hoses!!.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
I'm suprised that there was rubber hose inside the caravan. Permanently installed fridges usually are fed with metal pipe. The only rubber hose should be outside caravan in gas locker.
We have been away for 6 weeks now and going on to great yarmouth on tueday and while walking the dog around various campsites I have yet to see a 2012 service sticker on any caravan Are people saving money in these hard times?( Sorry to hijack post but it is on the same subject)
Many thanks to all you kind people. Yes a little frightening to say the least. Tentz is right and my wife has now insisted I take the van to a specialist and have all the gas serviced with replacement copper pipes inside the van. Otherwise she has threatened to sleep in the tent!!
