Hi Surfer1, I periodically have a similar fault, namely when you first switch on it all the LEDs are lit and it just runs flat out, there is no speed control but you can switch off, Mentioned it at service and they say it wouldn't go wrong, typical. My gut feeling is that its dampness (condensation) getting onto the control board. So far I can live with it but if it becomes a pain I may try a water dispersant like WD40 on it but didn't want to risk it yet.
