Hi

We have a 2002 Avondale Osprey with a Whale pressurised water system. We have a problem with it clicking very loudly and the pumps running on after the taps are shut.

We thought it was the white pressure valve, so have replaced it with a new one and set it correctly. We have now found that the noise wasn’t coming from that, but appears to be coming from one of the 2 small solenoid valves located close to it.

Has anyone had any experience of this and if so, how did you fix it? We would appreciate any help as the clicking is driving us nuts.

Solenoid valves? never heard of those before. As far as I'm aware there are only two methods of pressurising the water in the system and that is either by a pressure switch or micro-switches under the taps.

I too am puzzled Like Tango. I'd immediately expect this to be the pressure switch as it's only this which clips and allows the pump to run if there switch is either incorrectly set and if there's a small leak in the system causing loss of pressure. You can also encounter an issue with the pump running randomly if the battery output is low or fluctuating.
I'd make further checks on leaks, battery and double check you've set the pressure switch properly too.

Hi Guys
Sorry it might not be a solenoid switch/valve. Have took a picture but can't find anywhere to post one so I will try and describe it.
As I look down at the pressure switch there is sort of valve assembly to the right side of it. It has a metal/brass bracket with a hexagonal head with like a plastic plug where the threads would be if it were on a nut. Stamped on this bracket is 'CE' and 'Serie R'. There are 2 spade connectors with a red/white wire going into one and a red wire going into the other. There is another one of these valve assemblies to the back of the pressure switch and this has green/yellow and red/white wires.

Have gooled the Serie R and come up with this link. Ours looks like the one to the far right.

I have had a brief read about these solenoid valves and it seems like they have replaced the older type pressure switch. Do you have one of these type pressure switches installed?

I haven't heard of these solenoid valves before but they are definitely something to do with high pressure water delivery and that's why I can't understand why you have these solenoid valves fitted as well as a pressure switch. I think the best solution here is to start a new thread with the title 'Water System Solenoid Valves' and see if you get any response from that. I'm absolutely clueless to be quite honest so let's hope that someone can offer further advice. During the meantime I will have a look in my caravanning handbook and see if there is any information in there.

I have had a look in my caravan handbook in the 'Water Systems' section and there is absolutely nothing mentioned about solenoid valves at all which tells me this is a new product that has been installed but exactly what they do is quite baffling to say the least.

Thanks for looking. There is nothing in my Avondale handbook either and I can't find any mention of them on the Whale sight.

I am totally flummoxed (if that's how you spell it).

I too am absolutely stumped and will follow any new thread with interest.
I recently worked on my in-laws water system in an '02 Avondale, but not sure of their model; their's has a bog standard pressurised water system in with no further valves.

I think you have to have a link to a website that stores photo's then you send them to this website somehow. I not sure exactly how it's done as I haven't done it myself but it's what I have read in the past on here by other members how to transfer pictures. Maybe someone will explain in detail but I think it's a website like this.

You need to register with an online photo store site such as Photobucket or Tango's suggestion above.

Upload your photo and you'll be presented with a full web address/link where just the image can be viewed. Once you've got the link, highlight it, right click and copy the full URL. When making a post and need to post the picture, click on the

button that's above the text area where you enter your post (it's last but one in the row of icons). You'll then be offered a small box into which you paste the URL of your stored photo, then hit OK. This inserts a photo hyperlink into the body of your post and displays the stored picture.

TIP: It's worth keeping the photo a relatively smallish size for easy viewing and quick loading. Unless your chosen photo store site gives you a 're-size' option when you upload the photo, use the re-size option that's generally within Windows. I'd suggest either an 640x480 image, or I find a 320x240 works just neatly too.

Alternative example which allows you to link direct to a pic already online, using the link in your earlier post above:

Right click the image you want to link to and select 'Copy Image Location', then paste the URL into the

button.
