I'm taking my kids away next week for our first caravan trip on our own. Because i'm alone with the girls I will need to take my powerchair but i've just realized that the campsite only has a 10amp supply and being totally clueless I have no idea if that will charge my batteries.

Any thoughts?

You will have no problem as i use a mobility scooter and charge it from the van...

Do you have to remove the batteries to re-charge them or is the powerchair fitted with a permanent socket that you plug the charger lead in to?

no problem, not sure of the draw on your powerchair,can not see it being high.if it is then just turn everything of high power off in the van while its on charge.ie water heater. info

Somewhere on the charger or definitely in your handbook it should tell you how many amps the charger would draw but I would guess about 2 amps max

The reason why I asked this question is because if you can take the batteries indoors you will be fine on the hook up but if you have to charge the powerchair outside just make sure you keep it covered when the charger plug and socket are connected mainly because of damp.

finally worked it out - it's only 1.3amp so i'm good to go. Will charge it in the awning and keep it under a cover so it should be fine. Going for our first weekend in the van today. Just me and my husband so it should be relaxing lol. Going to a wedding on Saturday so we decided to stay down the road in the caravan. Very excited!
