The piece that broke is the actual plastic "ledge" that the slats sit on.Runs the full length of the seats and under the centre cabinate.

 I think what Falfa is on about is the support that runs along the top of the seats under the cusions that the roll out mattress slats sit on when you pull them out. We had one break in our first van while we were away so i bought some 2'' x 1'' and screwed it to the seat. Perfect
