I'm selling my caravan and I want to put 2 new or newer tyres on.
Can anyone advice me where I can get two 175R x13C suitable for a caravan. The large commercial outlets don't appear to be too helpful when I ask for the load rating.
It might be worth checking out the E-Tyres website as the have a section on tyres suitable for caravans, even if youdon't buy from them its a useful resource. Sometimes you can find a local dealer that has a caravanner on the staff but otherwise info can be hard to come by.

Budget tyres in size you want here load index is 95 which for 2 tyres gives you a limit of 1380kg so if your caravan all up weight is less than this then these tyres will do. Tyre-shopper are ok I have used them. They deliver the tyres to a tyre depot near you & you can take wheels to them for fitting if they can't take a caravan on their premises.
e-tyres also supply them but dearer, they will come to caravan to fit them. the 101 load rating allows a weight of 1650kg on 2 tyres so more than adequate I would think.
edit, I can't get tyre-shopper to link direct to tyres. put your size into their home page & it will come up. price was £57.50 each, fitted & balanced.
thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply. I checked out e-tyres and they do a budget tyre for £70 each fitted.
As you said Tyre-shopper comes out at £57.50 each fully fitted the only difference is I have to take the tyres to the supplier, Which is fine as the van is having a service next week- so as the wheels come off I can take them and have new tyres fitted.
175R13C come with two different load index rating 94 (6ply) and 97 (8ply).
94 is 1340kg max, but better closer to 1210kg for caravan use and 97 1460kg or 1315kg for caravans.
10% lower load figures are recommended by the tyre industry to allow for caravans standing doing nothing most of their lives, rather than being used every day like white vans are.
I would ask your local independent tyre guy, mine can get any tyre within an hour or two, they are also likely to be cheaper!
And make sure you ask for them to be balanced!

I'm so glad I did this posting - every thing is becoming clearer.
Thank you for the info it's very helpful to be able to discuss in more depth my requirements instead of just leaving it to trust and good luck....
Tyres seem to be a male domain and you can feel a tad intimidated if you don't understand the basics of a suitable tyres.
Select your tyre size and pay online then choose a fitting centre near to you and time to suit you all in price no surprises.
------------- Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level then beat you on experience.
