I have just purchased a ABI Pioneer 3 berth (1985) caravan and would like to know what should be at the back under the window. There are brackets however I can't tell what would have been there.
Anyone have interior pictures or plans.

Hi there my friend.

I have recently purchased the same caravan and had to carry out my first ever damp repair (first caravan too lol) so i know this with some intamacy. the pioneer is actually a 4 berth under the seat cushion at the side opposite the bathroom there should be a pull out bunkbed frame and the back cushion then opens out to be the other matress. also the gap you refer to between the seat and the bathroom door under the window there shoudl be a cabinet (looks a little sillt tbh) hope this helps my friend btw I have all original manuals and weights etc with ours if you need a copy ever

Hi Dynorob,

Bunk Bed!! well an extra that wasn't mentioned however I think it may have been completley removed from mine. Will look closer at the weekend.

I guessed there may have been a cabinet at the end. Any pictures would be good, if we do keep this one then I may try and restore it.

Manuals and specs would be great, I have no idea of weights etc.

Not sure if you can "private message" on here however my email is motoway57 at gmail.com

Thanks

Moto

Bought  a new one in 85/86. Not a good tower, snaking over 50/55, didn't matter how I changed the loading !. I traded it in for a different model the following year.

If I remember the bunk was of heavy construction and because of its position on the rear nearside of the van possibly was the culprit - which could explain why it is missing.

ABI only made this model for a couple of years !

Just came back to me the van I traded the Pioneer in for was an Ace Herald, The shape of the front windows reminded me of Concord.

About 17' and a good tower.

In my experience the best towing vans have all bar one have been over 17'. The exception was a Buccaneer 14L.
