Has anyone got the Isabella Explorer Large or the XLarge awning? They look good but can't find any reviews on them so I would be grateful of opinion's/experience of these awnings please.
We thought these looked good too but haven't even seen one up in an awning display. Also would like to know about the new Transit canopy/awning. We like Isabella for their quality.

They do look good and we are lucky enough to be the new owners of one. Lucky might not be the right word though on our first trip out with it we have found it great to put up fantastic to live with BUT it leaks. We have been assured that this is because its new, never had this with out trios, so we will wait to see with regard to this and will post back the outcome. It seems to be the awning beading soaking up water then running down the roof and dripping off, has any one else heard of this being a new awning problem? I do hope that it does stop as we do love the awning and its fabric quality.
Awnings quite often leak on getting their first soaking. On getting wet the holes around the stitching seal up (don't know if it's the thread or the awning fabric that swells).
Our Isabella Minor porch awning leaked a;long the awning rail the first time we used it and we thought 'uh Isabella?' B ut it was fine the next time we used it and has been ever since!
Updates would be goo once these new awnings have been used a couple of times. We like the look of the XL too.
Bought the XL due to it being a good make, good price, fantastic size for a porch awning, and also lightweight BUT was absolutely horrified on first use - as others have said water was soaking through the beading against the caravan, so much so that it was running along the roof and water was really dripping on us. Wondered if it was our fault for not putting up correctly (it was our first time). Have since had another go and although wasn't coming through the beading as much this time, the inside of the roof was still soaking wet - the million dollar question now is whether it's not waterproofed correctly, or it's the type of material that accumulates condensation inside. We're going to give it one more chance, but if it does it again its going back as not fit for purpose!
We used our's for the first time at Goodwood last weekend, we had heavy rain over night a couple of times but in the morning the awning carpet was dry so we assume it didn't leak. Away at the end of the month so will be keeping an eye on it. As for the space it provides and putting it up we are very pleased with it.
Watching this post with interest, please keep your experiences coming.
kwen - does the XL fit 'between' windows/door on your Delta? While our 'van is at home i must measure the space between windows/door to see where it fits. I prefer that it doesn't have to sit over a window.
I also notice you live in Derbyshire, where did you buy it from and did you find one on display anywhere?
Hi we got it from Glossop couldn't find anyone with it on display. It does go over the bed window which isn't a problem but hubby has got a spare rear pole so he is going to alter/adjust it to give a tighter fit.
Just been looking on-line for an XL and the pictures are showing 'Isabella Explorer XL' price £329 but on the pictures the name on the front of the awning says Ventura. I know that isabella make Ventura awnings but its being sold as an Isabella.
Can anyone tell me if this is the case in reality please?
Two things have happened to us with awnings and been cured both times.
1st. they stitched the awning together after it was reproofed (years ago when proofing was needed and done) anyway by sewing it after it made the holes NOT proofed so always leaked in the seams all of them until they redipped it completely again.
2nd. The seams like yours leaked via the zipped material; since we had the first trouble we have always carried an old white candle. Run the wax down the zipand the tape that its sew on.Both sides and with all the rain this year it did not leak anymore for us thankfully.
You may even have a candle already, slip it in your camping box
