I initially bought a noseweight gauge that you fit directly on to the towball itself but found it not only rather difficult to use but rather inaccurate too so I sold it and bought a Pyramid noseweight gauge instead. I found that I was constantly getting various reading which basically was not fit for purpose plus the red plastic top got fast inside the hitch and eventually split. The way to test a good noseweight gauge is once you have it under the towball, press down on the hitch and when the noseweight gauge come to rest again it should be the same reading every time. If it isn't then the gauge is not that accurate. Having a towball limit of only 75 kgs. and 7% of the caravans MTPLM being 84 kgs. I needed a noseweight gauge that was precise and accurate as getting the weight right was critical for achieving a stable outfit. I noticed on this forum that many were suggesting the Milenco noseweight gauge so I did some research on the product and found that the Milenco noseweight gauge was the only one on the market that was manufactured to an engineering standard and was guaranteed to register +/- 2 kgs. tolerance even after a hundred tests so I purchased one a few months ago. I rested the hitch on the noseweight gauge and did the test as mentioned and after 6 tests I got exactly the same reading each time so the theory of it's accuracy was proved from my own trial and error experiment. This gauge is not the cheapest to buy but it's an investment that is priceless, but if you do decide to buy one then shop around as the price can differ at outlets as much as £10. See the link below and read what Milenco's comments are.
