Ive had a Starcamp scenic too small, a suncamp swift, not tidy enough a bit floppy & now a new to me kampa rally 200 ! Wow lovely goes up easy looks fab gives us all the space we need for a weekend :) but .....
Just back from a weekend in the lakes and it poured down all weekend :( ... & my new to me porch awning leaked like a sieve ! The new monsoon pole wouldn't fit it was far too big and the center cross pole just helped to collect the water till it ballooned alarmingly ! We did take the cross pole out and managed to use a verander pole in place of the monsoon pole which helped a bit ....I'm hoping fabsil will help seal the leaks but I'm not sure why the monsoon pole won't fit is it maybe our caravan is not tall enough ... I do hope a few tweaks here and there will make it ok ... But at the moment I'm sooooo disappointed .... If we can't get it sorted then back to full awning for weekends at least that never lets us down
hi with the rainfall that we have all experianced in the last few weeks is proberly high than the awning HH soo i won't be suprised it has leaked and this is quite common on new tents and awnings in very heavy downpours
personaly i would not proof again untill its been used in normal conditions and if its still leaking reproof with fabsil if you have to clean it first dont use detergent soap you can get a universal awning cleaner at all camping shops alternativly use lux or snow flake this is non detergent and wont damage the material and then reproof with fabsil afterwards
would't have thought you would or even could re-proof a nylon awning ,any leaks would be through stitching holes ,not really anyway over it .the bad weather of late is not good for lightweight awnings really
we have a kampa and so far so good but not experienced rain like last week. was it new off ebay or second hand, if it is older then it may be worth re sealing.
Hi out and about ,the reason I asked was I purchased one from a company called peak outdoors. Won't go over old ground again but ours also leaked like a sieve . It leaked on the stitching and also From the pockets were the cross arms connect into. After contacting kampa they said it can leak a bit but not to the extent mine did. So had a four month battle to get a refund but finally did. As someone else said I think if it was of the canvas type then you can sometimes get this problem until it shrinks on the stitching. But as far as I know nylon should not do this. I don't know we're u got it from on e bay whether it was a shop or just a consumer, I would be asking for my money back if it did not state it leaks like a sieve. Which I very much doubt it did say that. Hope this helps you in anyway.
Hi scoobz I purchased from a consumer so I suppose buyer beware ... Did kampa help with any advice ? My awning does leak from everywhere not just the seams did wonder if previous owners had maybe cleaned it at sometime in the wrong detergent .. We did own a combicamp and that leaked after using fly spray in the awning but fabsil sorted that out very well so was hoping for the same result ..... Still not sure why the monsoon pole was too big
nylon awnings should not leak under normal circumstances ,especially through the fabric ,as you said has the previous owner cleaned it with anything to destroy the waterproofing .i do know that pennine have been having trouble with leaking seams on there new acrylic campers
We have a Kampa Rally and that leaks a little from seams over front windows, it's annoying as it drips right onto the table below. Previous to that we had (and still have) a suncamp and that leaked in exactly the same.

Are you absolutely sure it wasn't condensation? My Rally 200 gets very wet inside on a damp morning, and it's all condensation. If an awning leaks, it usually happens at seams, not through the fabric itself.
I really is surprising how much condensation can collect inside a polyester awning (they are polyester, not nylon).
We have a brand new Rally Club 330 and used it first time in the Jubilee Monsoon Week. It didn't leak a drop from anywhere, and in that rain we really expected it to.
Awning Skirt that came with it was flimsy rubbish though, glad we kept the one we from our previous awning.
------------- Im no cactus expert, but I know a prick when I see one!
we have the Rally 390 and never had a problem apart from the other week in horrendous rain in Cornwall did it leak, not through the seams or material but from where it sits in the awning rail above the door. I don't know whether it was caused by the tight fit of the monsoon poles or the heaviness of the rain combined with the wind. As its a lightweight awning we wouldn't normally leave it up in really bad weather but we'd been out for the day.
I'll try it with & without the poles for next outings just to see if it makes a difference.
We were very impressed with our Kampa Rally 260 Pro. It rained well and high winds in Devon last week and it stood up pretty well - no leaks but did take it down after the second night of high winds as the noise of it flapping around kept us awake.
