I know with the Diamond Jubilee a lot of people decorated their caravans/tents/campers with bunting and flags, some very nice ones too. Is anyone going to decorate them for the Olympics?
Definitely not as it is nothing to celebrate! The sooner the Olympics is over and gone, the better. Luckily we have Sky so can miss any programs with the Olympics.
Definately no bunting for us I am English and proud of it the Olympic games are just a huge waste of money and with the latest news that speed humps are being removed so that the so called VIP s can have a comfortable ride to and from the stadium is just unbelievable
It is nothing to do with patriotism and I hope our athletes do well, but it is the megabucks being squandered that gets my goat plus it is so commercialised it is unbelievable!
I hear if you go to the Olympics and decide to have a can of beer it be equivalent to about £10 a pint so some people will be making money. In just a few days London will have a lock down so getting in and out will be very difficult.

I love it and think it is briilliant .
Just enjoy it have fun. I also love the Paralympics just as much. I shall be watching with my flag in my hand.
We are not away sadly.
Thank you all for your replies. I am looking forward to watching it and love the Paralympics too. I will fly the Union Jack and am proud to be British.
We will. So excited, always loved the Olympics and pleased it is finally in the UK. Going to a couple of events, not enough though. Will be "down South" in the van so will be putting our flags and bunting up. My problem is that I have always resisted having a TV in the van, which means I am going to miss a lot of the events! Can't back down now!!
Well i saw this post yesterday and pondered on commenting but though better of it, however seeing some of the other posts its seems my thoughts are justified. Yes we have a flag pole and fly flags and at jubilee had bunting up also, i am english and right proud of it, but what a waste of time and effort the olympics is; such a commercial waste of money for two weeks that we will all be paying for for years to come.
Don't get me wrong i do not have a problem with the athletes and the work/job they do, but our shambles approach to it, that gets me going. Why it could not have been built in a more central location is beyond me. Glad in one respect i have not got tickets or will be watching it.
Will sit in my van and read a book me thinks and get away from it all.

The above is spot on and we will have the dreadful legacy for many years. The economy may be boosted in London for a short time, but once it is over we the taxpayer will have to fund the maintenance of all these venues.
South Africa hosted the football world cup last year and is already suffering the legacy as no one wants to take over the venues some of which were built in the wrong place as FIFA demanded that they be built there!
