My Avondale came fitted with a Weekender aerial when we purchased the caravan 8 years ago.
Traditionally we have used a separate sky box and mini dish, this has served us well 90% of the time. We now use a TV with inbuilt digital tuner with the Weekender aerial, although sometimes we get more channels than other times.
So the question....
Should I stick with the Weekender and use the site aerial if needed?
Should I get a Status 330 (360 deg) so no setting up (like now)
Should I get the new 550, minimal set up.
I don't want a separate pole with a directional aerial and I cant be bothered with the messing about.
Just to add the reason for my question was this weekend on the Marshals camp site at Silverstone I could not get a very good digital reception.

Our last caravan had the status 330 fitted and it was a load of rubbish so we bought a cheep clip-on which worked fine but since the signal has changed to digital all the reports are that the 330 is fine,we now have a 530 fitted to our new van and that is great a good picture ware ever we are without any messing about.Ian

If you're planning on changing the aerial, I'd opt for the directional 550 straightaway. Following digital changeover, our 330 has generally been far better overall with Freeview reception, however there are occassions I have to set-up an external aerial on mast.

If this is the case, then this is perhaps reason enough for opting for the 550.
