Hi everyone, picking up our new van at the weekend, so emptied out the old one. Thought i would weigh everything that came out, not done for a while. when ive checked this all against the new MRO / MPTLM figures for the new van, i'm about 10kg over ( even before any clothes or awning have gone in). Swift brochure says gas cylinders are now included in MRO, but that still doesn't account for the drop in payload allowance. Can anyone with a new (2011-) swift clarify what allowances are being made within the new mro figures. I'm getting worried we don't have enough payload allowance

Thanks

Greetings,

Can't, "Stand on a stack of Bibles" on this one as I got the answer from another forum but I have read that it allows 16.5kgs for gas and contents plus an allowance for water (calculated at 90% of contents of any inboard tank)

Therefore, (hope you haven't lost the will to live!!!)

Assuming you have a hot water tank that holds 10lts you have a total of 25.5kgs (16.5kgs for the gas and 9Kgs for the water) included in the MIRO.

I am informed that there is no allowance for the inclusion of a battery which seems, well, stupid in the extreme but there you have it. If you don't travel with water in the tank, you have an additional 9kgs to play with.

Thanks for the reply, what a strange weight for gas 16.5kg ? so assuming i only carry 1 calor lite cylinder (10kg) and empty the water tank (which we always do anyway) i should free up 15kg, enough at least to now take some clothes away with us. ( or investigate naturist caravanning!!!!!) Agree that it is bizarre a battery isnt included but water in tank is?? looks like the awnings going in the roof box on the car.
