Getting a Lunar Ariva 2 berth 2005 caravan but have no idea of what awning to get. Need only a porch awning for wheelchair and wet shoes & gear to hang before going inside. Thought about the nylon ones or even a better quality one to stay firmer in bad weather. Advice please;size, price & where from. Thanks

A good site to start looking We have a Sunncamp Swift Porch, it is very basic but does the job ie keeping the wet boots and clothes after a wet hike. There a no poles etc inside that you can use to hang things up on, we use the back of the chairs for that.

We have a Dorema porch which came with our caravan. I quite fancied a nylon type one but thinking back to when we had tents I know I preferred the more sturdy canvas ones so an acrylic awning suits us better. It can be a bit time consuming putting it up but the more we use it the quicker it gets. Once up it is solid and very good to sit inside if its windy.

I don't think the light awnings last and you need to be carefully in the wind

We have a Dorema Starcamp Mistral awning so simple to put up, and we have just returned home from Cornwall having had the strongest winds and rain in 40 years of caravanning, it stood up to it as well as any awning we have ever had.

We also have a canopy ( which has been adapted from a tent canopy ) which we use on summer days instead of our lightweight awning, it provides shelter from showers but still allows us to sit outside. I will have to upload a photo. We have found this very useful and was only about £20.

Hi Beanpark, As you know we added a "porch" awning to our FC last year and the word porch seems to have grown a bit from what I imagined one would be like.
This is the Outdoor Revolution Porch Awning and at 3m X 3m it would take your wheelchair, wet gear and a party as well. ![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley36.gif)

Lobby we also got an awning from Lisa for ther Fiesta and we are even wondering if it would fit the 2 berth Lunar we are getting next week. Bob thinks he saw an awning rail bit on the edge near the zips she puts on. But as it is at my big sisters in Harlow we cannot be sure. It would be an ideal thing is so. Can you see if yours still has the awning rail connection please. Thanks By the way if we have a party will invite you if your around![17](forum_images/smiley36.gif)

chrissie ,wait till you get the van ,most porch awnings depend on a straight section of awning rail to fit correctly ,as your van like ours is a two berth it might cause a problem ,we ordered a kampa 260 porch awning for ours and just before picking it up i realised i didn't have 260cm of straight rail on the van as it dips at the front for the window slope ,thankfully now got a full awning for ours off of the free adverts on here ,and there a lot easier to put up than the f.c ones

Well shall see next week when it all happens. Thank you

Yes Chrissie, The awning rail bit is still on our (Lisa) Porch Awning. Indeed I was working with the awning today and was holding ontop that bit as I zipped it onto the FC.
