i have a carver water system want to know if i could buy an adapter where i could just connect straight to mains instead of useing a pump and water but.
been away this weekend in caravan and see all the vans with these adapters not sure where to get on from.
my pump connector looks like this.
if you could copy link have a look
A direct flow from the cold water mains will indeed dislocate the plastic joints thus possibly causing a flood. Mains water pressure which is used for domestic purposes have pipes that are manufactured from Copper with either soldered or compression joints to withstand the high pressure. The domestic plastic push fittings that are often used these days as an alternative to Copper are tested in a research and development laboratory to a standard to withstand such pressures but the caravan's poly-plastic water system is only tested to a standard to withstand low pressures from a 12 volt power source only.
The ballcock system that Bill has pictured work very well but they still need the Aquaroll and the pump.I've used one for the last few years when we've had a fully serviced pitch. There is (or was)a system which can be connected direct from mains to the van's inlet and this incorporates an inline pressure reducer. D'ont know if these are still available or how reliable they are given the variations in pressure in different areas. Might be worth investigating if you are bone idle like me...............Mick

I have a direct hose as well that came with the van, i have used it, but found the water pressure in the van lower, so i use the ballcock system and the water pump.plus a piece of mind.
------------- Roughing it in style at Calloose caravan and camping holiday park nr St Ives.(seasonal pitch)
