If it is a lot cooler then I would not even try it I would sit in the van. In the winter I would never think of using it, and personally I think that plugging a heater in to heat the awning and then leaving it on day and night as has been suggested is a bit over the top, it means that the site owners eventually have to raise the price for everyone else just to be able to meet their electric bills.
It depends on the situation,
if you use the awning day and into late evenings as we do, you have the heating on, plus this keeps the van warm without having any heating in the van,we are on a seasonal pitch, so the awning is carpeted for insulation as well as comfort,we never boil a kettle, cook in the van everything is done in our awning, I never burn gas, plus i think we pay more than any other site for our ehu.You cant burn more electric that the supply allows you to, mine is 16amp, it will just trip out.so the site takes this into consideration,The ehu is there to be used, we either burn what we can before we trip it out or you dont,we cant burn more than what we pay for,so the next thing will be, is this illegal to make a profit? just to add, I do use my supply reasonably, more so when the site is full and more demand.

If you used 16 amps 24 hours a day it would cost the site owner about £6.50. Would that be reasonable?

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

No wonder sites are charging more for electric hook ups. The sooner that sites find a cost effective way of charging for electricity used the better and then I wont be subsidising those that waste it heating awnings.
I agree, a mate of mine who owns the CSsite I mostly stay on was having problems with people abusing the power supply, at the time he was only charging £9 per night per unit and he had 16 amp supplies, when he started to see people loading all sorts of heaters, kettles, toasters and even in one case a domestic baby belling cooker into thier awnings, He asked for my advice on how to overcome the problem, easy I said we'll knock all the supplies down to 10 amp, now they all have to be a bit more carefull of what they use at the same time,If they can't get along with using 2400 watts then maybe they should be renting a cottage instead of camping , I am a fulltime motorhomer and we easily manage I have to wonder sometimes why they stiil fit gas systems in caravans etc as it would seem that no one uses the stuff any more
------------- here today , where tomorrow?
yet another full timer,
