We have a week off September 8th to 15th, unusually for us we don't have anywhere booked.
Thought it would be good to include something in our week like music/folk/beer festival, carnival, 40's/50's/60's, walking festival, steam railway weekend (not steam rally) anything to do with wildlife etc, etc, possibly around the midlands,Derbyshire, Lincolnshire yorkshire etc prepared to travel around 100-150 miles.
Black Sheep Brewery and Country Walking magazine run a Boots and Beer weekend in the Yorkshire Dales around that time. I think it's the weekend of the 14th and 15th. It's about £20 and you get a goody bag, printed directions for several walks of varying lengths and difficulties. They're all properly controlled, they check you as you start and return etc. There are extra evening activities, usually a quiz night and ceilidh or something like that, for about another £20.
It's a brilliant weekend, unfortunately I'm already booked up otherwise I'd be going myself.
