I bought a Pro-Tec cover last Oct 2011. On putting it on the caravan the door was on the off side and not the near side as well as having the surplas material for the arial and chimney in completely the wrong position. Plus it fitted very badly.
Give them their due they promptly sent a replacement with the door on the correct side, although about 18'' out of position and the material allowance for the arial still in the wrong position. The fit on the back and the front was really bad.
At the next phone call they asked if I could live with it through the winter and they would manufacture a new cover in the spring, this I agreed to although I was getting a number of embarrassing comments from others on the storeage site.
Spring comes along and I was asked by Pro-Tec if I would take a number of detailed measurements, which I did, I still cannot believe I did, but there you go.
Once again all that has changed is they have got the material allowance for the arial correct.
Rang again this time I asked if I could have the Duo, ok. The Duo arrives, the front cover looks good but the door still in the wrong position and the whole thing looks a very ill fitting mess.
Back it goes. When it comes back the door is still in the wrong position, it is now a very tight fit and still a poor fit. But what really annoyed me was that there were two repairs made on the roof (that Pro-Tec had made) that were already starting to peel - they really care about their customers! When I took the Duo off a final time I was surprised to see that the wind had been able to blow dirt etc under the cover that was tied at the front and left some nasty dirt lines on the van.
When I rang to complain and ask for my money back all that was said was 'ok'. I had to chase them for the refund. Not once did they apologise and all that I received back was my barclaycard receipt and a very scruffy and amatuerishly copied compliment slip.
And the caravan in question - a 2010 Coachman.
So I thought I might try Specialised Accessories but I keep reading as many bad reports as good ones on them. I do not want a repeat of the Pro Tec. I have spoken to and received a sample from cover systems which looks ok but their price is a lot more than the other two companies, I am really concerned about having problems again.
