This has bugged me ever since I slept in a tourer...
... Is it me????? or does anyone else hate it when the light shines straight through the horizontal gap at the bottom of your pull down blinds, waking you up and binding you????
If this sounds familiar - what did you do to fix it (before I go off on a brain storming session armed with my sewing kit, glue etc).
I have tried shoving towels in the gaps, socks, etc, but they fall out and I don't want to push too much up as it will obviously put pressure on the blinds.
I find it a real pain, especially when my son wakes up early as well and I think this is the problem.
If anyone has any ideas or ideas that they know work - please let me know...
I know what you mean and agree with you, especially if the sun (what's that you may ask) is shining on it first thing in the morning. I have found that if I pull the flyscreen fully down too it does the trick.
Same here. With the blind fully down, there is a gap at the bottom that lets the sun in in the mornings. Very annoying, especially when you're trying to encourage a 1-year-old to have a lie-in!
I'll try pulling the flyscreen down as suggested above, and see if that helps.
Otherwise, I thought of getting a piece of L-shaped plastic profile (I bet I can find something in B&Q), cutting it to the right length, and sticking it across the bottom of the blind using double sided sticky pads, thereby 'enclosing' the bottom edge of the blind. Hard to explain, but if I try it I'll post the results on here.
Must admit that I have never noticed it and I sleep on the window side. Maybe the Elddis blinds drop down further than your van. Anyway, if the sun wakes me that means its time for the kettle to be on and the day starting..

We always pull the blinds and flyscreens fully down...still the light gets in underneath.
I have seen others on here suggest using the foam insulation piping that is used to lag pipes. I have considered this but it seems a lot of effort every night we have 9 windows and some of them are very big

In our case that would foul with the fly screen and if the return was cut short to clear it would still leave at least half the original gap.
Think if the issue worried us, which it does not, I would cut a 1" square strip of dark coloured foam and stuff it in the gap of the one or two windows that offend. Market type foam stall being a ready source.
or cut a quadrant from some 15mm or 22mm pipe lagging from B&Q.

Is it only certain makes of vans that have this blind problem?.ive had Baileys and Swifts and never had a problem..
I dont think so as Phil says his elddis is fine and mine is an elddis. Personally I think some people are more light sensitive. Me being one of them. Doesnt bother my husband but I find light wakes me up
