- or settling?? The floor aft of the axle has a small gradient - you`ve guessed right - downwards to the sink and cooker at the rear. Upon examination, the fault appears to be the rear (skinny) end of the Alko frame which looks flinsy to say the least. There is no obvious floor problem, or damp.
Whether the problem is of long standing, I know not. But in the 12 m we`ve had Daisy, things haven`t deteriorated, so I`ll just keep my eye on it for future.
Anybody else experienced this?

The floor in our old Abbey was always a bit "flexy" in places, with one spot in particular, by the sink being quite spongy (& squeaky). I boarded it out with 12mm plywood & it made it nice & solid. Old floor wasnt wet or rotten at all, probably just gone a bit flexy over time. I made a template of the floor out of wallpaper then cut out the ply with a jigsaw. Took a bit of faffing to get it down due to overhanging doors etc.

Caravans with a rear kitchen are prone to this as all the weight is at the back.Sometimes a split will appear above the door as the door frame can split. Its caused with the van "bouncing"with the weight at the back..
I thought that might be the case, Jeff. The van being 20 odd years old won`t help. The oven`s not there now so I guess that`ll help . . . there doesn`t seem to be any signs of stress or gaps in the wall boards etc. If I get a few seasons out of this, it`ll owe me nothing . . . so hang on in there, lass . . gravity and age doesn`t go down well wi women heh heh

Seems a bit strange for the floor to bow without the sides moving. Is it possible to pack the floor off the chassis a little?
I must confess I gave up levelling our last caravan after using a spirit level on the cupboard and levelling it I found the floor was nose down and the ceiling nose high I think a degree of sag in a caravan over the years is inevitable. Provided its structurally sound I wouldn't worry too much as long as it doesn't get worse.
