According to talkford.com Mr Clutch is about the cheapest, but they recommend looking for reviews of your local branch as some of their branches can be a bit shoddy with their workmanship, but I am sure you can get that with any chain.
EDIT:
I just put in the details for my 2004 Mondeo 130 on the MrClutch website and it came up with a price of £219.99.
I would definately recommend replacing the DMF while the gearbox is out though. The biggest cost to do the job is the labour and you have to remove the clutch to change the DMF.
It was the best price i could get that was after chatting to a mechanic in the local pub DMF etc done as its one part on the mondeo. Quoted £650 what a nice surprise it was only £600 and that included a new break light... The company is in Birkenhead Wirral but doubt thats any use to you...
Oh Nooooo ours on the Mondeo went this morning towing back from Wales, fortunately we were only a couple of miles from our storage and a relative towed it back for us, we decanted the kids and luggage to my car (son came picked them up) - bit of a bummer and expense we could do without bearing in mind the insurance and site fees due
just got mine back today new clutch and flywheel £620..quoted £550..driving home i noticed the radio flashing up CODE.. so another £25 to get that from ford. as i've lost the paper it was written on...anyway all done now so back to a few days away here and there.. happy days

On the way to Bridlington in May my Mondeos clutch slipped for a short time whilst leaving a roundabout on the flat, slowed down and changed down to third and started off very gently and had no more problems even going up some quite steep hills under power. had my Ho
Oday and came home, priced a solid flywheel clutch ( £650 fitted ) decided to wait and see and I am still waiting. We have just come back from Freshwater East and some of the hills round there are very interesting especially when rowing, restarting on the hill in Narberth was interesting to say the least but no clutch slip.
so for anyone who experiences a slipping clutch just once and then gets home without a problem I would say give it time, the time to worry is when it keeps happening.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Hi Janus, ours is an 04 mondeo - I think it was the burning smell and the smoke coming from under the car which confirmed we were past the slipping stage we'd never had a slip before that.
You aren't too far away from us so when/if yours does give up the ghost then I can recommend the clutch specialist we used in Westhoughton - actually it was £282 fitted (not £288 as above)
our tow cars a mondeo in a fancy frock ( an xtype jag), 2.1 2003 model, manual, just had a quote for clutch on the old girl , £200 labour £250 parts at a jag/rover specialist, going to get a quote from from mr clutch next based on what i've read on this thread
------------- no tin tent outings booked as yet ,just another cruise in Sept' booked so far
