After decorating the inside and installing LED mood lighting I am off to Wales tomorrow and to keep the caravan clutter free I will be carrying the waste master and water barrel in the car, as well as the poles for the windbreak and ... You get the idea.
This way I will be able to get in the van straight away and put the dog in there whilst I set up.
I am assuming that as long as I have a correct nose weight a lighter caravan will behave itself as I drag it the 180 miles to the site.

I often wonder if lighter caravan may mean bit more jumpy. Just thinking of an unpacked trailer compared to a weighted down one ?
I am sure that as long as you not expecting to breat the speed limits then should be fine either way.
Hope you have a great holiday but make shure you bring you're coats, bit wet here at mo lol
Enjoy Wales :-)
Lighter is definitely more jumpy. We a relatively light van with a Volvo xc70 and if we don't pack all our stuff over the axle then the van practically takes off. It's not a nice tow. We don't take lots of stuff and if we just nip away without much I can feel it pinging about everywhere.
We now make an effort to pack everything in the van, not car and heavy stuff over the axle
