Thought I'd share this, amusing, but v worrying too.
A mate of mine forwarded me this pic at the weekend, after he got back from a holiday down south.
His message said that they'd realised part through his journey back North that the jockey wheel (the wheel itself!) was missing from the mechanism on his Bailey caravan!?!
They drove all the way home and it wasn't until they'd got to the storage site and could wind the legs down and unhitch the van that they spotted this, underneath the van and very delicately lodged underneath!!!
While this is mildly amusing that that's where it ended up, its also a worry that its managed to fall off to start with!! Can't imagine what damage it could cause to motorists behind had it bounced off mid journey!
He's as conscientious a caravanner as I am, in terms of pre journey checks, so he's probably going to take it up with the supplier.
What an absolute fluke.
Despite all our good intentions with regards to "... pre journey checks", how many of us would check the integrity of the split pin and 'axle' in the jockey wheel?
